Extremely rugged longlife energy storage for DC UPS systems
For the use of DC UPS systems in environments with consistently high or low temperatures, pure lead-tin battery cells, such as the "Hawker Cyclon," are ideal as energy storage. Unlike traditional lead-acid batteries, the extremely ruggedized cells use wound, thin pure lead (99.004?%) electrode grids with a tin alloy (0.65?%). The optimised electrochemical processes in the valve-regulated cyclon cells (VRLA) enable high temperature resistance and an exceptionally long service life. Pure lead-tin batteries are particularly shock- and vibration-resistant and can be installed, charged, and discharged in any orientation.
