Maintenance-free and ultra fast charging long-life energy storage for DC UPS systems
For uninterruptible DC power supplies (DC UPS), completely maintenance-free long-life supercaps (ultracapacitors) are available for short and medium hold-up times as highly efficient and particularly long-lasting energy storage units, offering more than 500,000 charge and discharge cycles. Unlike batteries, which store energy via a chemical reaction, supercaps are based on electrophysical principles and can be charged quickly and are ready for immediate use. Buffer modules with supercapacitors are impressive due to their high current-carrying capacity, power density, and reliability. The energy storage units BP-SUC (open-frame) and BP-SUC-D (DIN rail) operate over an extended temperature range and feature integrated cell balancing.
