I want to put the UPS into storage. What do I need to consider?
Please fully charge the UPS before storage.
How many lead-acid batteries are installed in the IUPS-401?
The UPS is equipped with two Yuasa NP3-6 batteries.
What is the difference between the IUPS-401 and the IUPS-401-B8?
Both devices feature a USB interface. The included connecting cable has a DSUB9 connector and a USB-A connector.
- Designed for installation in PC systems
- USB interface mounted on a separate board on the slot bracket
- Designed for control cabinet installation
- USB interface located internally
Is the Y-connection cable PSZ-1023 included in the scope of delivery?
Yes, the PSZ-1023 is included in the scope of delivery. It can also be ordered separately as a spare part in the online shop.
There are many versions of the IUPS-401. How do I find the right model for my system?
Please check:
- Which interface is required (USB or RS232)?
- Use a wattmeter to measure the system's power consumption in the off state (off-mode) and during normal operation (idle-mode).
- Choose a UPS whose load sensor value is clearly above the off-mode and clearly below the idle-mode power during operation.
What is the purpose of the load sensor on the IUPS-401?
The load sensor prevents the UPS from continuing to run unnecessarily when connected PCs are switched off and a power outage occurs. In the event of a power failure, the UPS checks the connected load — if it is below the sensor value, the UPS shuts down to preserve the battery.
Can I replace the batteries myself?
Yes, this is possible, but should only be carried out by qualified electrical personnel.
- Disconnect the UPS from the mains and wait until all LEDs are off
- Open the device
- Disconnect the battery cables and, if necessary, carefully re-bend the contacts
- Remove the old batteries and insert the new ones
- Reconnect the cables in the correct order and route them securely, keeping a safe distance from the side panel's mounting threads
My UPS shuts down after a few seconds. What could be the cause?
- Is a load connected? Without a load, the UPS shuts down via the load sensor.
- Check whether the load is above the sensor's threshold value.
- The battery capacity may be too low or the battery may be defective — please charge or replace it.
I ordered the wrong UPS. Can I change the load sensor afterward?
Yes, this is possible. The PSZ-1076 cable is required for this. The UPSAdjuster software is only available on request from support.
Can I operate a 230V IUPS-401 in the USA between two 115 V phases?
The UPS is designed for operation between phase and neutral conductor. Operation between two phases is generally possible, however US commercial power grids often provide a voltage of 208 V AC.
Where can I find the safety data sheet for the batteries (Yuasa NP3-6)?
The Safety Data Sheet can be found on our website under Documents for the IUPS-401, as well as directly from Yuasa for download.
The red LED is flashing rapidly — what does this mean?
This indicates a defective battery. However, it could also indicate a fault on the mainboard.
Which device replaces the IUPS-301 or IUPS-300K?
The IUPS-401-B1 or IUPS-401-B5 models are suitable replacements. In this case, the included AC-Y cable must also be replaced. There is currently no replacement for the IUPS-300K; it is approximately 45 mm shorter in length than the IUPS-401-B1.
The USB connection occasionally drops out. What can I do?
Please route the USB cable at a sufficient distance from 230 V lines to avoid interference.
