Next-gen 15A DC UPS solution ‘Made in Germany’:
LiFePO4 battery technology, fast charging process and USB-C / RS485 Modbus interface
The UPSI-2415DP3 is the latest generation of intelligent DC UPS systems for DIN rail mounting – designed for maximum operational reliability and optimal data communication. It ensures reliable protection of control and automation applications in the event of a power failure, voltage dip or flicker.
Thanks to robust LiFePO4 battery technology, an extended temperature range of -20…+50°C and up to 6,000 charging cycles, the powerful 24VDC emergency power supply with 15A impresses with its exceptionally long service life and stability in continuous industrial operation.
The DC UPS can be easily integrated into existing control systems via the front-mounted USB-C and RS485 Modbus interfaces and conveniently monitored using the included UPScom management software. Extended protection mechanisms ensure additional operational reliability and increased surge & burst immunity.
The compact UPSI-2415DP3 DC UPS in a robust DIN rail housing is ideal for long-term use in control cabinet applications and decentralised power supply solutions. It ensures the protection of embedded IPCs, controllers, motor drives, sensors, and measurement, control and safety systems.
High intrinsic safety and comprehensive protection functions
The robust, high-quality DC UPS has intrinsically safe charging and control electronics with redundancy in case of failure. The entire charging and discharging process of each battery cell is monitored and controlled by the battery management system (BMS). In addition, the integrated LiFePO4 high-performance battery pack of the UPSI-2415-DP3 offers intrinsic safety with IEC 62133 safety certification.
Furthermore, the 24V DC UPS is characterised by its high resistance to fast transients (bursts) and surge voltages. It meets the requirements of standards EN 61000-4-4 and EN 61000-4-5 with test voltages of up to 2 kV for burst tests and up to ±1 kV (L–N) and ±2 kV (L–PE, N–PE) for surge voltage loads, in each case according to test criterion A. This means that the system also operates reliably under demanding electromagnetic conditions.
In addition, the 24V emergency power supply is equipped with a comprehensive package of protective functions, including reverse polarity, short-circuit and overcurrent protection. This ensures maximum operational reliability, a long service life and minimised risk of failure in critical applications.
Fast charging thanks to optimised charging process
Thanks to its stable and safe chemistry, the LiFePO4 high-performance battery pack is particularly suitable for safety-critical applications. With a service life of up to 10 years and up to 6,000 complete charge and discharge cycles, this battery technology is a reliable and durable solution for UPS applications. The newly developed and optimised charging process significantly reduces charging time and enables rapid availability of the energy storage system. At Bicker Elektronik, we specifically rely on lithium iron phosphate technology, which virtually eliminates the risk of thermal runaway, and, in combination with our specially developed battery management system (BMS), offer maximum safety and reliability.
Lower total cost of ownership compared to lead-acid batteries
Compared to the supposedly cheaper lead-acid batteries, high-quality lithium iron phosphate cells have a service life and cycle stability that is approximately 15-20 times higher. In addition, the full rated capacity of the LiFePO4 battery pack can be used permanently and at 100%, whereas lead-acid batteries have significant limitations in terms of depth of discharge and cycle count. Looking at the TCO (total cost of ownership) over a period of up to 10 years, LiFePO4 technology offers a clear economic advantage, especially as there is no maintenance or battery replacement required during this period.
Intelligent “power sharing” thanks to input current detection
The intelligent power sharing function on the 24 VDC input ensures that the upstream AC/DC power supply does not need to be oversized. The power supply is kept stable and at the same time intelligently adjusted to the load and LiFePO4 battery charger, so that more energy flows into the charging process at low output loads and is automatically adjusted at higher loads.
UPS management software 'UPScom'
with intuitive user interface
The software 'UPScom' (freely available for download) allows the connected devices to be shut down and switched off in a controlled manner during a power failure in order to avoid data loss or damage. The responsive WEB UI is called up in a web browser to set and pre-program all parameters of the DC UPS system and for real-time monitoring with state-of-charge indicator. The adjustable parameters include, among other things, load sensor (mA), shutdown delay, maximum backup time, minimum charge capacity before system start, notifications by email.
Cross-platform technology
'UPScom' uses the new WebAssembly (WASM) architecture, which runs in most current web browsers. 'UPScom' runs on x86 compatible systems and also on most ARM-64 based systems under Microsoft® Windows and various Linux distributions.
Secure Shutdown & Reboot function for IPC systems
In the event of a "power failure", the UPS signals the failure of the supply voltage via the integrated interfaces, so that a controlled shutdown of the computer system is initiated and valuable data is saved. A script (batch) can also be executed before the system is shut down in order to process your own application-relevant processes. The integrated reboot function of the DC UPS automatically restarts the supplied IPC after the supply voltage returns, without the need for time-consuming on-site intervention by a service employee, e.g. in the case of completely self-sufficient computer systems at inaccessible locations.
Email messenger service
'UPScom' can be used for various events such as loss of connection to the UPS, system shutdown or power failure. These preventative measures can reduce or eliminate downtime.
Maximum safety for your 24 VDC application
In the field of uninterruptible power supply, our DC UPS systems can be used in a variety of applications for a wide range of industries: Industry 4.0, automation, medical and laboratory technology, transportation, traffic monitoring, energy, communication, vending, POS / payment systems, security technology and many more.
